This is an entry level position into the survey profession. Duties & Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Observe and learn how to perform the duties of the chainman position, which are: Follow CPA safety culture, tripod-tribrach-prism setups, use a level rod, measure distances, understand and carry out work instructions, maintain neat and orderly vehicles and work areas, set traverse points and level loop turning points, snow shoveling, drill ice holes with hand held power auger, set wood lath and hubs, be on time for all morning safety meetings, be on time for all Shared Service work flights.

� Work in extreme conditions (remote/isolated areas, cold temperatures, wind, rain, snow, and insects).

� Work long hours (12 hours a day for at least two weeks straight).

� Able to lift at least 50 pounds.

� Walk long distances over irregular and difficult terrain.

� Shovel snow and chip ice.

Qualifications

Required Experience: Kuukpik Shareholder and Nuiqsut Resident (This is a ConocoPhillips funded position)

� Embrace the ConocoPhillips safety culture

� High school diploma or equivalent

� Effectively communicate with coworkers and others

� Basic knowledge of mathematics

� Ability to ride a snow machine and perform basic maintenance

� Possess a valid drivers license

� Ability to pass the UIC driving course

� Possess an NSTC card (preferred) or be willing to obtain one

� Ability to pass a ConocoPhillips background check

� Pass DOT drug testing

� Live in a work camp environment

� Disposition conducive to living and working with the same people in close quarters for at least two weeks at a time

� Work in extreme weather conditions

� Work 12 hours/day on two weeks rotation

� Able to lift at least 50 pounds

� Walk long distances over irregular terrain
