Overview

Bowhead seeks senior instructors to join our team at the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), Space and Missile Defense (SDM) Center of Excellence (SMDCoE) also known as the US SMD School.  SMD School (SMDS) core functions include:

  1. Educate, train, and develop leaders for Space and Missile Defense operations
  2. Develop Army Doctrine for Space, High Altitude, and Global Missile Defense
  3. Develop individual and collective training tasks for Space and Missile Defense operations
  4. Execute the US Army’s Quality Assurance Program to ensure standards are met in the education, training, and leadership development of Soldiers and Civilians

Responsibilities

  • Provides training and instruction to support one, or more, SMD School courses
  • Develop lesson plans, training materials, and course content
  • Conduct training sessions or demonstrations, and develop evaluation criteria
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise related to US Army space operations
  • Travel, as needed, to conduct training

Qualifications

  • MIGS, or similar system, experience with at least one operational deployment
  • Understanding of Satellite Communications
  • Experience and understanding of military operations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Previous instructor-facilitator experience
  • Ability to travel 50% or more

Desired:

  • Military Occupation Skill (MOS) qualification as 25S or FA40
  • Completion of US Army Space Cadre Basic Course (ASCBC), Army Space Control Fundamentals, Space Control Operator or other relevant space courses
  • Graduate of a military instructor training course (e.g. ITC/SGITC, FIFC, ABIC, AFBIC, etc…)

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
