Bowhead seeks a DoD SECRET cleared Software/Systems Test Engineer to join our team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) on the MK 160 Gun Computer System and Naval Fires Control Systems. The position is fully funded and in the first year of a five year contract. The Systems Engineer will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments.


  • Provide input/support in the requirements validation, operational conceptualization, and developmental testing
  • This position primarily supports the latter phases of integration testing, verification and validation of software releases
  • Must be comfortable working with multiple software languages, documentation and test case development/execution and post-test documentation
  • Other duties as assigned


  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
  • At least Six (6) years professional technical experience including at least four (4) years specialized experience with Naval Weapon Systems for surface combatants, or similar experience as a Weapons System Operator or Fire Controlman/Technician
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
