Overview

EXECUTIVE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (AFMDS):

 

Bowhead is seeking an Executive Communications Systems Technician at Shaw AFB, SC to support 15th Air Force in advising, assisting, advocating, integrating, and certifying (A3IC) its Force Elements at assigned wings and Direct Reporting Units (DRU).  The Technician provides Information Technology (IT) support including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and customer assistance.  Also ensures all systems are operational utilizing approved diagnostic software, hardware connectivity, and troubleshooting techniques.

Responsibilities

 

  • Implement and maintain technical and physical safeguards and software access controls
  • Perform regularly scheduled systems management and maintenance procedures on all unit assigned systems
  • Provide technical advice and training to staff
  • Provide maintenance and operation of phone systems
  • Provide on-site operation and database maintenance of multi-user computer systems
  • Provide solutions to customer requests for assistance by resolving hardware and software problems
  • Interaction and resolution of users' concerns to ensure proper operation of computer systems
  • Install and maintain devices supporting a broad range of information systems employing multiple network and local operating systems
  • Serve as technical specialist on all automated systems
  • Provide solutions to customer requests for assistance by resolving hardware and software problems
  • Install and maintain hardware supporting a broad range of information systems employing multiple network and local operating systems and client server software
  • Installs and configures workstation, network operating systems, and applications software on a wide variety range of configurable information systems devices
  • Write, research and update documentation and information on standard operations procedures for information technology systems installation, configurations, maintenance, and processes related to executive communications and HQs 15 AF support.
  • Support General Officer and NAF senior leader unclassified and classified Information Technology (IT) and other communications requirements.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of information technology help desk experience
  • Security + Certification
  • Secret security clearance
  • 5 years of Joint Communications/Cyber Officer/technician experience within a wing, NAF, AF, or Joint Staff (Desired)
  • 3 years of experience within an operational headquarters staff (Desired)
  • Associates' degree from an accredited college or university (Desired)
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
