Overview

SPECIAL SECURITY REPRESENTATIVE (AFMDS):

 

Bowhead is seeking a Special Security Representative (SSR) at Shaw AFB, SC to support 15th Air Force in advising, assisting, advocating, integrating, and certifying (A3IC) its Force Elements at assigned wings and Direct Reporting Units (DRU).  The SSR collaborates with base, tenant organization, and higher headquarters security offices to process and maintain government and contractor employee clearances/accesses; prepares and files necessary clearance paperwork for government personnel, employees, candidates, and consultants.

Responsibilities

Specified tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Establishes and maintains a working relationship with all relevant government agencies while constructing and managing collateral secure areas and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF), both permanent and temporary
  • Conducts SCIF/T-SCIF/TSWA accreditation actions for local and command Special Security Offices, as well as self-inspections in preparation for local and command security audits
  • Coordinate accreditation and reaccreditation of classified IS Systems to include user access, auditing, configuration management, documentation, and training in accordance with USG policies and regulations
  • Assists 15 AF in managing pre-deployment requirements up to SCI for all 15 AF HQ staff personnel and Joint Staff Basic Course attendees
  • Uses the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to track and maintain clearances
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and monitoring of collateral and SCI policies and procedures, for in-garrison, exercise and deployed environments
  • Assists government in ensuring compliance with all aspects of the security program, including physical, personnel, industrial, and information security programs
  • In cooperation with the 15 AF Special Security Manager/Officer, coordinates with the 9 AF/ AFCENT security managers on behalf of 15 AF HQ staff for all security related issues.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of Facility Security Officer (FSO) experience
  • Possess a TS-SCI clearance
  • Experience supporting SAP requisitions/operations (strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (strongly preferred)
  • Preferred candidate is a retired or separated USAF Security Forces NCO with deployed security management experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
