Overview

FORCE ELEMENT CERTIFICATION AND EXERCISE SUPPORT - LEAD SENIOR PLANNER (AFMDS):

 

Bowhead is seeking a Force Element Certification and Exercise Support - Lead Senior Planner at Shaw AFB, SC to support 15th Air Force in advising, assisting, advocating, integrating, and certifying (A3IC) its Force Elements at assigned wings and Direct Reporting Units (DRU).  The Senior Planner provides support to all 15 AF FE certification exercises as a Subject Matter Expert or as part of an exercise support team by assisting with identifying and publishing MESL/METL requirements to be executed during FE certification exercises/events.

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in developing and validating METLs/MESLs and associated exercise materials for Lead Wing and other FE certifying exercises/events
  • Maintain awareness and coordinate with HHQ and 15 AF assigned wings and DRUs on current and predicted operational environments, missions, and requirements
  • Attend planning conferences to include development, initial, mid, and final planning conferences for up to 4 exercises per year
  • Assist in the evaluation of the supporting exercise training systems as they impact training. Lead and train unit exercise control cells in support of HQ or wing-level exercises/events
  • Assist in development and maintenance of the METLs/MESLs for HHQ and wing certification exercises/events

Qualifications

  • Familiar with Lead Wing and other FE requirements and CAFFORGEN requirements
  • At least 2 years exercise planning experience
  • At least 2 years of joint or service component operational planning experience
  • TS/SCI security clearance
  • 3 years of exercise planning experience and 2 years of experience on a NAF or higher staff (desired)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university also desired
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
