Overview

FRONT-END DEVELOPER (ERDC):

 

Bowhead seeks a Front-End Developer to support the Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) contract headquartered in Vicksburg, MS. The Front-End Developer will leverage a human-centered design process to deliver an easy-to-use user interface and user experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Advise, develop approaches, and review software development processes for projects in languages specified by the government at the time of awarding of task orders. Common programming languages to be used may include, but not limited to, CSS, HTML, Vue.js, React.js, PowerBI, JavaScript, ASP.NET, or Microsoft Visual Basic or C# using Microsoft Visual Studio as the development platform.
  • Design software for, but not limited to, Azure Platforms, ESRI ArcServer, Web Services, Web Applications, or Desktop Applications. The software will potentially interact with databases which may include, but not limited to, CosmosDB, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, HDF5, or MongoDB.
  • Research customers, competitors, and products.
  • Develop personas, scenarios, and user stories.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify requirements, create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups.
  • Advise and assist with development of usability testing.
  • Advise on accessibility standards and maintain usability documentation.
  • Ensure product quality and work closely with product managers and marketing to maximize customer success.

Qualifications

  • BA/S in Computer Science or related field and an additional two to five (2-5) years of professional experience
  • Must have experience with programming languages such as C#, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, and HTML
  • A CompTIA Security+ certificate may be required prior to starting this position
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
