GIS ANALYST (CESAM-OPJ):
Bowhead seeks a GIS Analyst to work alongside its seasoned GIS Analysts in support of the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Kiln, MS. Working closely with multiple teams, this is an exciting opportunity to hone and apply your GIS Analysis skills. The GIS Analyst II will operate Geographic Information System (GIS) workstations and software to perform spatial and attribute data analysis and maintenance related to GIS.
- Use GIS data in ESRI ArcGIS format to create routine map products
- Utilize GIS data from Lidar and other sources to process special mapping requests for presentations
- Create, modify, import, and/or utilize existing datasets to perform complex spatial analysis using ArcGIS software
- Perform complex point, polygon and address geocoding and/or linking of data files to existing georeferenced datasets
- Develop map and attribute data for publishing mapping applications
- Provide customer assistance, create maps, and analyze complex geographic data, provide sound technical expertise in developing effective solutions to a variety of complex projects and support applicable GIS Project Management objectives
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related science is required in addition to one to three (1-3) years’ experience as a GIS Analyst
• Experience with Lidar and ESRI products and tools is required
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
