Overview

SYSTEMS EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, AVIONICS (WSS):

 

Bowhead seeks a Systems Equipment Specialist, Avionics to join our team at Hill AFB, UT to support the A-10 Weapon System Support, Analysis, Test, and Integration contract. The A-10 WSSATI contract is critical in supporting the A-10C weapon system (and any future Mission Design Series - MDS), and in facilitating the role of the A-10 SPO as a highly successful prime integrator. This will insure that the A-10 fleet remains a viable part of the cohesive, ready, and agile fighting forces that the Air Force, the Combatant Commanders, and our National Defense Strategy require. 

Responsibilities

- Demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices of specific aircraft Avionics systems and skills in applying this knowledge to resolve difficult and complex assignments.

- Demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices of specific Avionics equipment.

- Demonstrate knowledge/skill in Total Quality principles, practices, methods, and procedures.

- Identify and analyze complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions

- Provide technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and maintenance technicians.

- Develop interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationship, and working cooperatively as a member of a team.

- Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data.

Qualifications

• BS degree in related field is preferred.

• Three (3+) years of A-10 aircraft avionics experience required; ten (10+) overall years of experience preferred.

• Demonstrable experience working with complex military electronics microprocessor-based systems, real-time networks, and integrating complex military electronics.

• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently have and be able to obtain a clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Secret clearance at this location.
