Overview

TECHNICAL SPECILIST (LC/WB-2023-19028):

 

Bowhead is seeking to network, for an upcoming proposal effort, with Technical Specialist to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division. The contract will support business services in support of Code 80 and other organizations associated with or sponsoring the NSWCCD. The business services include Program Management and Planning, Finance, Logistics, Security, Space Planning, Safety, Administrative Services, Technical Editing, Records Management, and Computer Engineering and IT support.

 

 

Responsibilities

The Technical Specialist serves as advisor to customers and potential customers regarding the resolution of technical, scientific or engineering issues that affect installation and utilization of organization products and/or services. Proposes changes in products and/or services that result in cost reductions and increased sales. May prepare operating manuals, references or training materials for customers and the sales force.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts degree from an accredited college or university OR an Associate’s degree with three years of experience in technical writing in addition to Minimum Experience requirement.
  • An Associate’s degree and an additional three years of experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of experience performing technical writing functions for DoD assets in preparing and editing technical documents such as technical information/repair/operations manuals, technical reports, project plans, and strategic plans.
  • Experience must demonstrate use of computer graphics and publishing tools and software, and be at least two years related to watercraft publications/reports.Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Confidential level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Confidential clearance at this location.
