SCA Electronics Technician Maintenance III (F3500)

 

Bowhead is seeks an experienced Electronics Technician Maintenance to join our team in Crane, IN. The Electronics Technician Maintenance team identifies and resolves equipment malfunctions, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance and must be capable of reading blueprints, schematics and engineering instructions of the assembly of electronic units. They also assist in writing reports and recording data as it relates to testing techniques, laboratory equipment and specifications.

 

Responsibilities

  • Duties will include radar system maintenance, repair, overhauls, fabrication of cable harnesses, populating RVCA, parts inventory management and complete system testing using approved procedures.
  • Must work with other technicians in testing and repair of AN/SPS-67/SPS-73 radar system consoles and associated equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Task Lead, Branch Manager, ISEA and US Navy fleet.
  • Must be able to provide troubleshooting assistance to the ISEA and US Navy.
  • Must maintain parts inventory in accordance with OM&S regulations.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience on Radar system maintenance and repair, SPS-73 experience preferred.
  • Assembling electrical and electronic systems and prototype
  • Repairing, Building, calibrating, and repairing electrical instruments or testing equipment
  • Inspecting drawings and designs for quality control, report findings, and make recommendations to the lead engineer
  • Performing all manners of depot maintenance to specified Electronic Systems
  • Helping to build prototypes from rough sketches or plans, under the engineers’ direction
  • Assembling, testing and maintaining circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronics
  • Adjusting and replacing defective circuitry and electronic components

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum; however, experience is crucial and therefore additional experience will be considered in lieu of any formal education
  • An Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology is highly desired
  • At least five years of experience in an electronics Technician and/or Maintenance role is required
  • Navy Electronics Experience highly desired.
  • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), High voltage training, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and associated training is required to perform the duties in designated work areas
  • Must possess or be able to obtain Fall Protection Training, Overhead Crane Certification, Forklift Certification
  • Must possess or be able to obtain solder certification to IPC requirements such as IPC J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721 or Miniature/Micro-miniature (2M) certification standards
  • Basic to intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically\

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
