Overview

Lead Senior Voice/Data Communications Specialist (DNA-2023-19303):

 

Bowhead seeks to network with a Lead Senior Voice/Data Communications Specialistrelative to a potential opportunity, which is contingent upon award and not currently funded. The Lead Senior Voice/Data Communications Specialist will support The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Digital Networks & Applications (DNA) Department is located at the Naval Air Warfare Center in Patuxent River, MD. DNA provides Information Technology (IT) and cybersecurity services and products to NAWCAD, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) headquarters, other Department of the Navy (DON) components, and the Fleet.

Responsibilities

The Lead Senior Voice/Data Communications Specialist will act as Team Lead for the Video Technologies Team.

 

Job duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Design, analyze, install, implement and operate Classified and Unclassified Voice and Data equipment and all associated peripherals that reside on the Local Area Networks (LAN), such as the NMCI or RDT&E networks, the wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks that service NAS PAX and other Military sites across the CONUS.
  • Perform network emulation/virtualization, analysis, and planning.
  • May also support network and computer security measures.
  • May install and upgrade systems software and maintain software configuration management.
  • May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma OR GED Required Bachelors in IT, Computer Science, or Cyber Security highly desired.
  • Three(3+) plus years relevant professional experience. With atleast one(1) as a team lead/ supervisor. 
  • Experience with the design, analyze, install, implement and operate Classified and Unclassified Voice and Data equipment and all associated peripherals
  • Experience/ understanding of how to install and upgrade systems software and maintain software configuration management.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
