Overview

Bowhead seeks an Architectural Consultant to join our team to support an ongoing effort in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a team member for interior architectural space planning project development and completion within set schedules and budgets. Applies analytical processes and technical solutions for interior designs
• Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by Senior Architect
• Assists in the preparation of the Program of Requirements documentation and SF 81
• Attends site surveys and defines the requirements, establishes design parameters, and prepares Design and Intent Drawings based on client requirements
• Creates and develops overall design concepts, floor plans, and drawings, formulates design presentations strategies, and provides design
• Analyze building codes in consultation with the local A&E on the project, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs. ensuring compliance with design specifications
• Prepares and reviews construction documents, punch lists, and designs from architectural professionals
at selected stages in the project
• Plans and performs architectural research, studies, analysis and life-cycle management
• Serves as a resource and technical consultant on space planning, design and interior architecture improvements
• Gives presentations or briefings on some aspects of the project

Qualifications

Education: Degree in Architecture/Planning or Interior Design from an accredited university or college required

 

• Seven (7) years’ experience with performing architectural services to include analysis and implementation tasks in an design-build architectural environment
• Capable of managing design and construction projects on a continuous ongoing basis
• Understanding of LEED requirements and various aspects of sustainability in reviewing design scopes of work
• Experienced in performing analysis and implementation tasks in an architectural environment
• Proficiency in use of AutoCAD programs and cost and schedule reporting systems
• Conceptual and schematic design skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to provide presentations and briefings
• Excellent customer service skills

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (NAC).

 

 

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds 
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
