Overview

DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (CDC):

 

Bowhead seeks a Database Administrator to support the upcoming Center of Disease Control, Data Management Support Services for the Translation and Evaluation Branch located Washington D.C. This effort will assist in conducting large scale multi-site HIV prevention program monitoring and evaluation projects aimed to improve HIV-related health outcomes and achieve health equity for U.S. populations, at an individual, community, and national level through the synthesis, translation, dissemination, and evaluation of public health programs, strategies, and research.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reviews of published and unpublished literature identified through internet searches or from other resources such as the CDC Library.
  • Provide an annotated bibliography and summary of findings from literature reviews.
  • Develop, maintain, and document procedures for data collection, database management, and analysis (including development of analytic plans as directed by the COR).
  • Develop guidance documents and other materials (e.g., qualitative data collection tools and templates, codebooks, data dictionaries) to facilitate the implementation of monitoring and evaluating core activities and demonstration projects.
  • Develop and maintain a repository of codes and programs for data analysis within the CDC infrastructure. The Contractor shall make all data analysis codes and programs available to the COR upon request, within 24 hours of the request.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized database for EHE aggregate data within the CDC infrastructure.
  • Revise existing EHE aggregate data collection database as needed within the CDC infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • BS/A in relevant technical field PLUS five (5+) years of relevant experience is preferred
  • Intermediate-to-advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite—Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

  

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
