Overview

(2023-19361)Bowhead is seeking a Maintenance Site Supervisor who will be responsible for reviewing and assigning work to maintenance employees as well as maintaining weekly maintenance schedules and reports, addressing concerns with maintenance personnel, and maintaining schedule compliance and priority. The Maintenance Supervisor must also promote communication and good relations between the production and maintenance departments. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure all regulatory obligations relating to operational duties are completed in consultation with management as required by the relevant certificate, regulation or permit.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing and assigning work to maintenance employees as well as maintaining weekly maintenance schedules and reports, addressing concerns with maintenance personnel, and maintaining schedule compliance and priority. The Maintenance Supervisor must also promote communication and good relations between the production and maintenance departments. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure all regulatory obligations relating to operational duties are completed in consultation with management as required by the relevant certificate, regulation or permit.

Essential functions will include:

 

• Working to minimize the severity or frequency of accidents of contractors and maintenance personnel through risk identification process.

 

• Maintaining schedule compliance and priority by completing maintenance jobs as efficiently and accurately as possible.

 

• Assisting in streamlining repair costs by correctly reporting supplies and consumption of tools, materials, man hours and skills to management and job execution.

• Ensuring emergency breakdowns are promptly repaired.

 

• Reviewing equipment history files to ensure accurate recorded histories in work order completions.

 

• Reporting maintenance performance during major overhauls.

 

• Developing and executing training plan for maintenance workers and provide grievance counseling as required.

 

• Assigning and reassigning work as per emergencies and operational priorities.

 

• Making sure that work orders are completed in accordance with all corporate policies and Army regulations.

 

• Ensure housekeeping, productivity, and quality of work standards are maintained, most especially within the mechanical maintenance department.

 

• Aim and strive to achieve 98% reliability on all work orders as well as to achieve departmental goals

 

• Investigating of near misses and all safety incidents then providing and implementing corrective measures.

 

• Responsible for the reliability and maintenance of all equipment.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma/GED equivalent is required at a minimum; however, a Associates Degree or higher is a plus.

 

• Must have a minimum of five (5+) years’ of documented supervisory experience in a maintenance related field.

 

• Must have comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in DOD ground transportation and in the areas of personal property, unit movement, and materiel movement.

 

• Knowledge of GCSS-Army, FEDLOG, and FedMall are preferred.

 

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; excellent written/verbal communication skills required.

 

• Basic level skills in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel and Outlook is required

 

Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location. Applicants may be subject to a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening and/or random drug screen, and must follow UIC’s Non-DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
