Overview

Bowhead is seeking a Network/ECR Survey and Installation Support Technician responsible for surveying electronic classrooms (ECR), installing network cables, moving equipment, and providing improvements and recommendations to ECR and training systems within Government facilities for our Navy customers. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing tasks associated with the movement, final assembly, and testing of furniture and electronic equipment at numerous Government facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating, overseeing, and accomplishing movement/installation of network cables to include CAT6 and some fiber
• Coordinating, overseeing, and accomplishing movement/installation of required furniture, equipment, cables, computer systems, and associated facilities activities
• Conducting site surveys at various CONUS military installations to gather necessary data for completing drawings and reports needed to facilitate ECR upgrades and installation of equipment
• Supporting the implementation of layout, installation of various systems, and quality controls
• Preparing reports and compliance documentation
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety on the job site
• Providing support and direction to technician helpers
• Develop drawings to ASME or similar standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering is preferred, or additional experience in place of a degree
• Previous military active or reserve duty or retired military is preferred
• At least two (2) years of experience as a facilities technician or in a similar role
• Experience with MS Office required, previous experience with VISIO highly preferred or AutoCAD
• Experience with assembling furniture and computer equipment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license
• Ability to read Engineering drawings,
• Familiar with ASME drawing standards

• Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess at least one of the following: CompTIA Certification A+, Network+, Security+
• Certified Fiber Optics Technician
• Familiar with Protective distribution System Network Infrastructure
• Familiar with SIPR Networks

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain or currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.


Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
