Overview

DOCKETING SPECAILIST (NHTSA):

 

Bowhead seeks a Docketing Specialist to support an upcoming client located in the DC metropolitan area. The Docketing Analyst will utilize automated management information systems and other online database services/applications to electronically capture/scan data, populate systems, retrieve data, and provide information/status updates.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with DOC staff to support processing operations.
  • Observe DOC work standards and confidentiality, safeguarding and protecting Personally Identifiable Information from unauthorized disclosure.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, up-to-date official docket records.
  • Use database programs to create and document records and activities and produce summary reports and spreadsheets to record, tabulate, and make computations for process tracking.
  • Review submissions for completeness and tracks review status, ensuring all documents are properly forwarded for legal analysis.
  • Assign docket numbers and processes basic dockets, and related documents concerning DOT proceedings and rulemakings in accordance with standard operating procedures and set workflow instructions.
  • Perform routine data entry and other office support services, including creating, sorting, uploading, distributing, or filing documents.
  • Utilize MS Office Suite, MS Windows, and other DOC automation tools in daily work assignments.
  • Provide reference and readers/audiovisual service to customers.
  • Coordinate inquiries directed to Dockets by letter, telephone calls, DOT staff, industry officials and the general public.
  • Follow adjusting policies and procedures (including automation utilization as appropriate) for the conduct and control of assigned functions as requested by the Program Manager.
  • Screen Federal Register submissions, providing results to customer, monitoring, and following up on the submissions throughout the Federal Register publication process.
  • Provide support in the absence of the Docketing Analyst.

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent) PLUS one (1+) year of relevant experience is required. An Associates (60+ credit hours) or Bachelors degree may substitute the required work experience.
  • Professional experience with e-Rule making, legal, or financial services is highly preferred.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts and demonstrable skills in oral and written communications, examples of technical publications / conference presentations may be requested.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Public Trust (NAC) level. US Citizenship is required at this location.
