Assistant Engineer (EPA-2023-19589):
Bowhead seeks to network with a Assistant Engineer for an upcoming effort supporting the The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Great Lakes National Program Office (GLNPO). If awarded, we will support this program by operating and maintaining a research vessel and work boat to obtain sediment and water samples in the Great Lake basin in support of water quality monitoring agreements between the United States and Canada.
The Assistant Engineer is responsible to safely operate and maintain all installed machinery and associated electronic components, both main and auxiliary, electrical, deck equipment, and other mechanical gear aboard the vessel. The engineer shall have the administrative ability to keep records and maintain an inventory of parts, tools, and fuel consumption, as well as the ability to log all maintenance tasks into a ship management software application.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
