Overview

PRODUCTION CONTROL CLERK

 

Bowhead seeks a Production Control Clerk to join our team in Fort Jackson, SC. The Production Control Clerk will be responsible for establishing, managing, and operating a Production, Planning, and Control (PPC) system in support of the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC). The Production Control Clerk shall utilize the Logistics Information Systems (LIS) to plan, schedule, control, and process all maintenance requests for repair or service. The Production Control Clerk shall receive, verify, input, and edit data associated with the processing of maintenance requests. The Production Control Clerk shall prepare documents used for scheduling workload and resources and shall ensure priorities and schedules are met. In addition, the knowledge and experience required to hold the position are outlined below.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:

  • Compiling and recording production data for industrial establishments to compare records and reports on volume of production, consumption of material, quality control, and other aspects of production.
  • Conducts daily parts run/pickup
  • Providing a detailed weekly and monthly parts transaction worksheet (electronic file: Microsoft Excel)
  • Will perform personal counter sales to any person or agency other than LRC Maintenance.
  • Opening and closing maintenance requests and understand all data elements identified during this process; performing data backups and restoration of database files.
  • Performing daily NMO/Work Order File Transfers to the appropriate US Government-provided LIS system using the established protocol and interfaces.
  • Ensuring that Order File Transfers are correct and confirm transfer was successful as well as performing all aspects of managing, maintaining, ordering, reordering, adjusting and inventorying Bench/Shop Stock.
  • Performing and managing all aspects of the Document Control Register and reconcile same with the appropriate LIS System activities.

Qualifications

 

  •  A High School diploma is required at a minimum however, an Associate’s degree is preferred.
  •  Must possess a minimum of two (2) years’ of experience in logistics, preferably in the Army or Military and GCSS-Army Training and Certification is highly preferred.
  •  Must possess a valid state issued Driver's License and be able to drive Government furnished equipment.
  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  •  Excellent written/verbal communication skills are required as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  •  Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

 

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required.
