Overview

LOGISTICIAN (2023-19613):

 

Bowhead seeks a senior level Logistician to join our team in Crane, IN at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC Crane). The Senior Logisticians must have extensive knowledge and on the job work experience with Logistics Support for the Small Arms Weapon Systems Division. 

 

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include: 

  • Senior Logistician will perform his/her duties with minimal supervision and management intervention while also performing configuration management duties as needed.
  • Responsible for the logistical process within operational, acquisition and wholesale environments.
  • Support JXNL in the procurements of materials via contracts, purchase cards, and DLA/TLS in order to conduct fielding, sustainment, overhaul and testing. Identifies, prioritizes, allocates, and manages inventory to sustain planned operational requirements and to optimize materiel availability and weapons systems readiness.
  • Ensuring the four disciplines of CM (Identification, Change Control, Status Accounting and Audits) are followed throughout the life cycle of Configuration Items (CI). • Execution of workload utilizing internal division/branch policy, methods and tools to provide effective and efficient control of data shall be commensurate with NSWC Crane data management principles, our sponsor tasking and resultant data deliverables including the capability to manage contractor data in support of our sponsors and projects.
  • Responsible for the control and management of data prepared or reviewed by division personnel and contractor data used in support of division technical projects. • Supporting all project personnel and be fundamental to division/branch level tasking for all sponsors and projects and their resultant hardware, software and data deliverables.
  • Provide audit support for small arms weapons systems, subsystems, equipment, and components by reviewing technical manuals for errors and inconsistencies, will be called upon to recommend and make corrections as well as track all updates and revisions. 
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce total costs and increase service levels through consolidation. Receives, stores, issues and cares for stock.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum, however a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Additionally, candidates must have at least fifteen (15+) years of professional experience in integrated logistics support. 
  • Must have knowledge of and/or operational experience or pass class room and web-based training of the following systems: Navy Earned Enterprise System (N-ERP), SOCOM Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), System for Award Management (SAM), Crane Financial Tool, Special Operation Logistic Management System (SOLMAN), Sustainment Asset Visibility Information Exchange (SSAVIE), Federal Logistic Information System Web Search (WebFlis), One Touch, DoD Supply Chain Materiel Management Procedures, and Technical Manual development.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
