Overview

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (INSPECTOR): (2023-19626)

 

Bowhead seeks to network with qualified individuals relative to a potential opportunity in St. Inigoes, MD, which is contingent upon award and not currently funded.  The Engineering Prototype and Fabrication Shop will perform development, testing, installation, and maintenance of shipboard and shore based electronic equipment. Support remote equipment installation requirements, including shipboard installation, fabricating models, including metal, wood, and fiberglass, and providing mechanical engineering consultation on projects.

 

The Engineering Technician will function as an engineering inspector who implements quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations. 

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:   

 

  • Inspects all phases of a variety of goods, services, or operation for conformity to establish quality, health and safety.
  • Ensures all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner.
  • Establishes inspection plans (scheduled and unscheduled), communicates deficiencies to proper persons, maintains Quality Control files, and document results of all inspections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma with at least ten (10) years of experience in engineering or technical management with Navy or other DoD programs.
  • A minimum of three (3) years expeirence performing a similar role in a manufacturing environment, with at least one (1) year of experience must be directly related to the DoD.
  • Knowledgeable of acquisition policies and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the requirements of the DOD 5000 series. 
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:  

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 to 25 pounds. 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
