Overview

OPERATIONS MANAGER- (2023-19631): 

 

Bowhead seeks to network with qualified individuals relative to a potential opportunity in St. Inigoes, MD, which is contingent upon award and not currently funded.  The Engineering Prototype and Fabrication Shop will perform development, testing, installation, and maintenance of shipboard and shore based electronic equipment. Support remote equipment installation requirements, including shipboard installation, fabricating models, including metal, wood, and fiberglass, and providing mechanical engineering consultation on projects.

 

Operations Manager will act as the overall lead, manager and administrator for the Engineering and Drafting contracted effort in support of a Navy program or project. 

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:   

  • Serve as the primary interface and point of contact with Government program authorities and representatives on technical and program/project issues.
  • Organize, direct and coordinate the planning and production of all contract and subcontract support activities.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least ten (10) years of experience in engineering management with Navy or other DoD programs.
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience in the Defense and Navy Acquisitions.
  • Knowledgeable of acquisition policies and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the requirements of the DOD 5000 series.
  • Supervision of First line supervisors for the Industrial and Production efforts in support of U.S. Navy programs or projects. Formulates policies, manages production operations, and plans the use of materials and human resources of the site team.
  • Plans, directs, or coordinates the operations of the engineering, prototyping, and fabrication shop, overseeing multiple artisan departments and leading a team of skilled artisans and craftsmen in support of a broad range of shop functions and departments.

Physical Demands:  

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 to 25 pounds. 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
