Overview

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN  (F3015 2024-21573):

 

Bowhead seeks an Engineering Technician to support the Marine Corps Systems Command and Light (LTV), PM Medium and Heavy (PM MHTV) divisions at Charleston, SC. This position may require travel to Crane, IN for training and business purposes. The Engineering Technician will identify and replace components and conduct functional tests to return articles to service; document maintenance and inspection actions; review technical documentation to identify planned maintenance action requirements; review and implement service advisory/service bulletins; and provide analysis and recommendations for changes and improvements to equipment installation, operation, modification, and maintenance for equipment. Maintainers will be required to support all vehicle systems to include communication, engine repair, automatic transmission, manual transmission, suspensions, brakes, electronic systems, heating and air, and ancillary system and subsystems

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include: 

  • Conducting functional testing and returning articles to service.
  • Provide support of all Tactical Vehicles (LTV, MHTV,), Logistics Vehicle System Replacement (LVSRs), Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs), both armored and un-armored, and Family of Tactical Trailers.

  • Documenting maintenance and inspection actions
  • Reviewing technical documentation to identify planned maintenance action requirements
  • Reviewing and implementing service advisory/service bulletins
  • Will be called upon to serve as the SME Trainer for MHTV training course(s) and will be required to evaluate operators and equipment
  • Providing analysis and recommendations for changes and improvements to equipment installation, operation, modification, maintenance, training and failure mode analysis for equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned

This position requires up to 60% both CONUS/OCONUS travel which may include sea duty of up to 6 months supporting a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).

Qualifications

  • Associates degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience. 
  • Knowledge of parts, materials, and precesses related to electrical equipment and labels.
  • Prior experience with Cat-ET, DG Diagnostics, and NANA testing tool
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
