Overview

LOGISTICIAN (BSAD)

 

Bowhead seeks a Logisticain to join our team in supporting the upcoming Navy contract in Charleston, SC. The Logistician will be responsible for managing the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Flowcharts, and Procurement Action-Tracker.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identifies requirements and activities needed to provide comprehensive logistical support
  • Prepares, reviews, and revises logistics documentation applicable to each program/ project through all phases of the acquisition cycle (e.g., Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, Maintenance Plans, Fielding Plans, etc.)
  • Monitors progress toward meeting the logistics plan(s), identifies the cause and impact of delays or other problems, and recommends actions to prevent or overcome such delays or problems
  • Follows quality assurance processes governing development of logistics documentation
  • Conducts studies, prepare reports, and provides advice on feasibility, cost effectiveness, and regulatory conformance of plans, proposals, and/or special projects
  • Evaluates plans for the provision of logistical support for feasibility, efficiency, economy, and the development of alternatives when required
  • Supports logistics assessments and milestone reviews in preparation for evaluations, demonstrations, fielding events, and transitions

Qualifications

  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification in Lifecycle [Acquisition] Logistics Advanced/Level 2 (or specific equivalent lifecycle logistics training)
  • Bachelors degree and seven (7) years defense lifecycle logistics support of electronic systems; additional 2 years of relative experience in lieu of certification/training is acceptable
  • Experience shall include at least four (4) years of support with C4ISR or similar systems, to include: Analyzing Contracts, Analyzing System Design Specifications, Analyzing Engineering/Systems Management Data, Developing Logistics Management Plans, Procedures, and Guidelines. Experience supervising Logistics Specialists; experience may be achieved simultaneously

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Direct experience with one or more of the following Navy ACAT and AAP programs is preferred: Ship's Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) Family of Systems (FoS), (Spectral as the follow-on SSEE system is contained within the SSEE FoS), Cryptologic Carry-On Program (CCOP), SSEE Ship New Construction (SCN), Foreign Military Sales (FMS) United Kingdom (UK)/New Zealand (NZ), Distributed Common Ground System – Navy (DCGS-N) FoS, Intelligence Carry-On Program (ICOP), Joint Tactical Terminal - Maritime (JTT-M), Automatic Identification System, (AIS), Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA), and Integrated Communications and Data Systems (ICADS)
  • Proficiency in DoD Acquisition and Life-Cycle Management policies and procedures
  • Experience using CMPRO, JIRA, and SAFE AGILE
  • Familiarity with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations)
  • Familiarity with FIAR (Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness) compliance standards

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  •  Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location
