Overview

Bowhead seeks a Business Analyst to support our Marine Corps client.

 

This position requires US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Acquisition Support:
Assist program/project acquisition teams in preparing, reviewing, updating, maintaining, routing, and approving acquisition documentation. Support program/project officers in conducting market research by identifying potential vendor sources and drafting market research reports.
• Action Item Management:
Track and manage action items in the Government’s designated tools by monitoring due dates, distributing notifications, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Administrative and Clerical Support: 

Schedule and reserve conference rooms in accordance with local procedures.
Coordinate meetings, including notifying participants, preparing agendas, arranging equipment/services, and following up as needed.
Assist with the successful management of the assigned Government organization by gathering inputs for data calls, drafting and revising responses, and supporting Government leadership with reviews.
• Records and Documentation Management:
Provide records management support by collecting, organizing, filing, and retrieving documentation, such as reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, memos, and other materials.
• Business and Process Analysis:
Document and analyze business and functional requirements, translating them into process maps and technical system requirements. Support continuous improvement by providing recommendations to enhance products, services, and processes.
• Content Development and Communication:
Create high-level briefings and communications materials for customers, management, and executive stakeholders.
Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation. 

Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, collaborating with team members to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Tool Utilization and Expertise:
Leverage Microsoft and Atlassian products (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence) to create engaging content and implement process improvements.
• Agile Methodology Knowledge:
Apply knowledge of Agile methodology to support the planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with Agile principles and practices.
• Customer Service and Team Collaboration:
Provide excellent customer service to internal team members and external customers. Demonstrate strong analytical skills (Excel, MS Word), effective communication, and self-motivation while completing assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Five plus (5+) years of related experience
• Excellent documentation, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including speaking and training abilities
• Must possess exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in both collaborative and independent environments
• Experience managing client requirements and small teams
• Strong business presentation and analytical skills

• PMP or equivalent certification highly desired
Preferred:
• 2+ years of direct experience working in acquisitions
• 2+ years of experience directly developing and/or reviewing Project Management plans and activities

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Successfully pass a T1 investigation. Candidates with a security clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is required.

 

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
