Overview

Deputy Project Manager (FMSC-2025-22146):

 

Bowhead seeks a Deputy Project Manager for a newly awarded contract. The Deputy Project Manager must have a solid background in project and team management, with expertise in various aspects of general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. They require advanced skills and knowledge in trades such as electrical and HVAC work and will keep the Supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered and act as in place of the Project Manager when they are unavailable.

 

The effort will support of light construction projects, supporting facility maintenance, for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).

Responsibilities

Job duties will include but are not limited to: 

  • Lead and oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Develop and implement business strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to project teams
  • Ensure quality management through the formulation and enforcement of work standards
  • Replace electrical receptacle covers, switches; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
  • Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, toilets, painting structures and equipment
  • Replace damaged sheet rock, paneling, floor tiles, and ceiling tiles; hang doors and installing door locks.
  • Replace broken window panes.
  • Perform general maintenance on equipment or machinery.
  • Install or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment, painting, plumbing and masonry.

Qualifications

  • Two plus (2+) years of relevant professional experience leading a team of general maintenance professionals.
  • Experience with administrative oversight of contractual matters and serving as a liaison between the Customer Representative and corporate management preferred.  
  • Experience managing services simultaneously while supporting many projects. 
  • Experience organizing resources to support many concurrent activities. 
  • Experience ensuring that all activities conform to the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of successful (related) experience and performance in a military or civilian workforce preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
