Overview

Graphics Specialist:

 

Bowhead is seeking a Graphics Specilaist for the upcoming DTRA Multimedia Support Services effort in Fort Belvoir, VA. This upcoming program will provide printing, photography-videography, graphics and audiovisual/VTC (AV/VTC) support services to the DTRA VI Division in support of the Agency.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large format and high-capacity printers (laser, toner and inkjet), and shall print graphics as needed per customer request or direction of the COR.
  • Operate large cutters (mat, vinyl, contour) and engravers; shall operate them as needed per customer request or by direction of the COR.
  • Operate laminator, adhesive boards, heat rollers and other equipment related to graphic design, printing, and fabrication of artwork.
  • Operate Microsoft Windows and Apple computers and their computer operating systems (including hardware and software), Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects to program, set up functions, create graphic designs and concepts, and enter data or process information.
  • Advise clients concerning most appropriate media for their project.
  • Apply artistic skill to produce detailed scientific and technical illustrations with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Design graphics, animations, multimedia and interactive content and interface within parameters for specific systems and end users.
  • Troubleshoot problems of visual information output devices.
  • Develop visual aids and charts for use in lectures/presentations/training evolutions.
  • Develop, create, and maintain content for DTRA digital signage systems.
  • Participate in the design, layout and production of brochures, pamphlets, illustrations, briefings, signs, displays and other materials. The Government will provide a copy of the DTRA Style Guide to the Contractor upon award of contract.
  • Maintain, archive current and stored file images and final products according to Government-provided VI protocol. Archive appropriate imagery to Defense and Federal agencies, as required by regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years’ experience in the principles, methods, and techniques used in the preparation of graphics materials, as well as the associated software and equipment with the following requirements:
  • Advanced visual arts methods, techniques and materials and ability to translate spoken or written descriptions of items, processes, issues, abstract concepts, and ideas into visual media with or without the benefit of existing pictures, models, or diagrams.
  • Subject matter nomenclature and terminology as applied to military topic areas.
  • Publication design and electronic pre-press preparation for black and white, spot color and CMYK printing.
  • Internet technologies and ability to design graphics, animations, interactive content and interfaces within parameters for specific systems and end users.
  • Visual information output devices including configuration and the ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Color spaces and palettes for specific media and application of color management across product lines.
  • Advanced computer graphics technology to develop, recommend and maintain VI systems.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
