TRAVEL Coordinator:

 

UICMS seeks a full-time Travel Coordinator to join our team.The Travel Coordinator plans itinerary and schedules travel accommodations for personnel according to travel orders using knowledge of routes, types of carriers, and travel regulations. The Travel Coordinator processes all travel requests for UIC Municipal Services.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:

 

  • Verifying travel orders to ensure costs, availability, and convenience of different types of carriers and selects the most advantageous route and carrier.
    • Receiving and reviewing approved travel requests for authority, travel dates, mode of travel, special arrangements (supporting documents, excess baggage, hotels, car rentals) and other pertinent information for both Water & Sewer and Underground Projects.

    • Must have knowledge of travel and charge card regulations, policy and procedures and be able to make arrangements for individuals requiring emergency travel.
    • Delivering personnel files and travel orders to persons prior to departure.

 

Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED is required in addition to at least some experience in travel and procurement.

• Must have prior experience operating a variety of office machines including calculators, copiers, typewriters, personal computers, and word processors is required. Candidates must have excellent and accurate data entry skills. Prior experience operating equipment such as printers and modems is helpful and any knowledge of automated systems to use several types of software for various office needs
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to clearly explain travel services, procedural requirements, travel accommodations, etc
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

 

Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs

All employees must pass Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all UIC Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program guidelines and requirements.

If working on a DOT project, employees must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
