Overview

PROGRAM MANAGER (MCSC):

 

Bowhead seeks a Program Manager to support Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) in Stafford, VA. The PM will support MCSC in the management and implementation of logistics policy guidance, training development and deliver support of Command-wide solutions that include product support analyses and coordinating emerging logistics initiatives with internal and external stakeholders. The Program Manager will have expertise in Marine Corps Acquisitions and Logistics to include a mastery of the 12 integrated product support elements, property accountability, training development, data mining, logistics, and maintenance data systems.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating the preparation of project plans, milestones, and operating budgets; develops project approaches / concepts; obtains proper resources within and across organizational boundaries.
  • Reviewing and evaluating work of staff, provides task oversight and prepares periodic performance reports.
  • Acting as primary customer contact for task activities, leading task review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Evaluates requirements, establishes task approach, organizes personnel resources, and directs day to day work activities.
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Identifying program problems and obtains solutions.
  • Directing the work of technical and support personnel assigned to the task and is responsible for overall task performance, product quality, and timeliness of efforts.
  • Ensure the training of all contractor personnel
  • Serve as the main Point of Contract (POC) for all contractor personnel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and eight to ten (8-10) years’ of relevant experience
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Advanced certification in Life Cycle Logistics, or equivalent in their focus / specialty.
  • Eight (8) years’ experience supervising employees.
  • Thorough understanding of DON and Marine Corp logistics regulations and policies.
  • Competency in communication, leadership, logistics automated systems, team management, and risk management.
  • Must be able to multi-task, manage priorities and work independently with little direction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged period amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract.
