Overview

LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (EO/IR 2025-22289):

 

Bowhead seeks a Logistics Management Specialist to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane Division (NSWC-Crane).  The Logistics Management Specialist will Provide programmatic and Life Cycle Logistics support for current Electro-Optic Infrared (EO/IR) projects managed by the Electro-Optic Technology Division (EOTD) including programmatic services, procurement documentation development, budget formulation, financial execution and tracking, and technical writing. Contractor shall provide project management support including, but not limited to, the following: coordination of project operations including management of records, schedules, and correspondence; analytical support; deliverables tracking; task management; and support the development of milestones and objectives for current projects.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include: 

  • Advise, assist and prepare recommendations to the Project/Program Manager. Examples are, but not limited to, the following:

    (1) Business Case Analyses (BCA)

    (2) Cost/Benefit tradeoff studies

    (3) Market Surveys

    (4) Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV) principles

    (5) Total ownership cost initiatives (such as ship manning reductions, workload simplification, elimination of redundancies, etc.)

  • Prepare and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for all assigned projects. IMS deliverables shall be prepared in Microsoft Project.
  • Develop the POA&M which shall include: Project Schedule, identification of all proposed tasks, key milestones, critical path items, task relationships, assigned resources, resource usage, Government Furnished Resource (GFR) requirements, sub-contract activities, deliverables and anticipated travel.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' Degree with two (2) to five (5) years of experience.
  • Proficient in DOD Logistics, Acquisition and Program Support. Shall be familiar with using the following Government computer systems: NAVY ERP, Supply Small Arms-Night Vision (SUSA-NV), MSADA VAS asset tracking database, SWMS, and iPDM

  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

 

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
