Overview

MANUFACTURING MATERIAL PLANNER (PLTX)

 

Bowhead seeks a Manufacturing Material Planner in Plano, TX. The Manufacturing Material Planner will be responsible for planning and managing material schedules to meet production requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity as well as managing inventory levels.

Responsibilities

  • Acts on and manages Manufacturing ERP system messages in a timely manner.
  • Assesses risks to scheduling, highlighting cost impacts, via various performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools and takes prompt action to resolve and communicate.
  • Keeps management appraised of potential impacts production & schedule.
  • Works with project management and operations to develop project organization (work breakdown structure), schedules, budgets, and reporting.
  • Owns development and execution of metrics related to materials.
  • Actively works with Materials and Supply Chain management to monitor business performance and identify trends and action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Participates in work in process and inventory material sweeps.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels, including spare parts and supplies. Perform inventory transactions, reconcile cycle counts with team and backflush inventory.
  • Interfaces with operating and support groups (Program Management Office, Production Planning, Operations and Quality Assurance).
  • Monitors data integrity and collaborates with stakeholders to improve quality of data.
  • May provide work direction and/or training to professional staff and/or support personnel.
  • As an AS9100 certified company, adherence to our Quality Management System Processes and Procedures is paramount.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree is required however, a Bachelor's Degree is preferred with some relevant experience. For highly qualified candidates, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Must have three to five (3-5) or more years of relevant experience. 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing with electrical and mechanical components is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) theory and practices.
  • CostPoint experience a plus.
  • Prior supply chain management-related experience (including one of the following: Planning, Inventory Management, Purchasing/Procurement, Material Management, Logistics, Production Planning, Supply Chain Management, and/or Warehouse Management).
  • Strong communication skills and effective at building relationships.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no security clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. US Citizenship is a requirement at this location.
