Overview

Bowhead Information Technologies Service is seeking an experienced and driven Sr. Training Support Coordinator with a strong technical background in SATCOM to support qualification training for United States Space Command (USSPACECOM).

 

This role goes beyond coordination and requires a hands-on approach to instruction and technical training delivery, particularly in wideband and/or narrowband satellite communications. The ideal candidate will support both classroom and mission-based simulator instruction, coordinate training schedules, and contribute to courseware development and refinement.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include: 

  • Delivering classroom and simulator-based instruction on wideband and/or narrowband SATCOM systems in support of USSPACECOM qualification training.
  • Coordinating training schedules, student rosters, and simulator availability to ensure effective course execution.
  • Assisting in the development and review of technical courseware, ensuring alignment with training standards and mission objectives.
  • Applying Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles to maintain and improve course content.
  • Maintaining training records, tracking student performance, and supporting after-action reviews.
  • Collaborating with courseware developers, engineers, and government personnel to ensure instructional content reflects real-world operational requirements.
  • Supporting integration of SATCOM simulators into instructional delivery and assisting with troubleshooting during live training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience in SATCOM operations, training, or instructional support.
  • Experience with UHF Narrowband SATCOM systems (e.g., MUOS, legacy UHF satellites)
  • Knowledge of tactical communications and mobile warfighter needs
  • Familiarity with satellite planning tools and network management systems
  • Ability to instruct or develop training for SATCOM terminal operation and configuration

Additional Skills/Experience: 

  • Hands-on experience operating or managing MUOS-capable systems
  • Prior experience in a military SATCOM or tactical communications role
  • Proficiency in waveform theory and network access protocols (e.g., TDMA, FDMA, DAMA)
  • Familiarity with PEX or other DoD training management systems
  • Training Systems Development experience using DAFMAN 36-2675 guidelines

Desired Skills: 

  • Prior experience supporting Combatant Command, Major Command, or joint SATCOM training programs.
  • Experience coordinating with SATCOM stakeholders and participating in mission-focused exercises.
  • Certifications or coursework in instructional design, SATCOM systems, RF engineering, or related fields.

 Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level with SCI eligibility.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
