Overview

Engineer (TWR-2025-23287):

 

Bowhead Operations Maintenance Solutions seeks multiple Engineers to work, on a part-time on-call basis, onboard government vessels out of Naval Station Pearl Harbor (Honolulu, Hawaii). 

Responsibilities

The  Engineer will supervise and perform maintenance on all engineering, deck, fire-fighting and emergency equipment. Must have experience in routine vessel operations PLUS the following:

  • Routine engineering operations
  • Experience in supervising and maintaining preventive maintenance system documentation and history
  • Preventative / corrective maintenance to engineering equipment
  • Deck repairs and modifications
  • Shipboard safety measures (firefighting, basic first-aid and emergency shipboard systems) Primarily day work (home at night, 80 %), Monday-Friday with occasional weekend harbor work

Qualifications

  • Licensed USCG Designated Duty Engineer (DDE) for Motor Vessels of 1000 horsepower with experience in routine operation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repairs of shipboard systems. with STCW 95 endorsement.
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identity Card), current.
  • Military experience is a PLUS. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

  

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
