Overview

Section 508 Enterprise Life Cycle Analyst:

 

Bowhead is looking for a Section 508 Enterprise Life Cycle (ELC) Analyst to work with the Section 508 Program Office within the US Department of the Treasury’s, Office of Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This agency provides wide support Assistive Technology (AT) as a reasonable accommodations and technical Section 508 guidance for IRS projects and Agency initiatives. The candidate will provide Section 508 technical guidance and support to the Section 508 Program Office which is responsible for implementing IT solutions as a part of their System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities. The ideal Candidate will have direct knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 at a sufficient level to assist IRS project teams in understanding Section 508 policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT projects with subject matter expertise on Section 508
  • Determine the Section 508 requirements for IT solutions slated for deployment
  • Determine 508 conformance level and recommend approaches where a gap exists
  • Articulate common methods for creating accessible Microsoft Office documents
  • The Candidate will have primary responsibility for engaging IRS IT project teams to Analyze their project documentation, requirements, system specifications, equipment lists and the associated workflows for each role for which an interface is necessary to interact with the system. With the ultimate goal being to advise the appropriate IRS Governance body of the inherent risks associated with deploying the new or revised IT system.

Qualifications

  • BS in Information Technology (preferred) / AAS in Computer Programming and Development (acceptable depending on coursework)
  • BS in Mathematics (acceptable)
  • IT Project Management certification
  • DHS Trusted Tester Certification
  • Knowledge of IT Risk Management practices
  • Knowledge of Problem-Solving methodologies
  • Knowledge of common Analysis techniques.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15-25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Public Trust clearance at this location.
