Bowhead seeks a Product Owner Proxy to join our team supporting the Program Office for Logistics Integrated Information Solutions – Marine Corps (LI2S-MC) in Stafford, VA. The Product Owner Proxy will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and lead or collaborate with database engineers, logisticians, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment.
The Product Owner Proxy will support product development projects, working as a representative of the product owner, handling all the documentation and maintenance, and defining the requirements of a development process. Basic responsibilities include handling product backlog, creating user stories, supporting requirement engineering, building project roadmap, ensuring teams are keeping priorities aligned.
• Review and analyze raw logistics data; extract meaningful insights and identify trends from raw data sources.
• Support federated data governance development; contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
• Support data analytics initiatives; contribute to data analytics projects.
• Assist and advise on dashboard development; provide guidance and support in the design and creation of dashboards related to logistical data, particularly USMC information.
• Focus on USMC logistics data; ensure a strong understanding of USMC logistics data domains, including maintenance, supply, transportation, and National Stock Number (NSN) identification.
• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university; MA/MS degree preferred.
• 10+ years of professional experience.
• 3+ years of database experience using query languages such as SQL, Python and R.
• Experience with Navy or Marine Corps supply and maintenance logistics data preferred.
• Working knowledge of Global Combat Support System – Marine Corps (GCSS-MC).
• Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
• Ability to manage the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific task.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team or perform independently.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. The successful candidate must favorably pass a T-1 background investigation. US Citizenship is required.
