Overview

Master Control Operator (WHCA):

 

Bowhead is seeking a Master Control Operator for an upcoming effort in Washington, DC. The Master Control Operator serves as a centralized point of control for all broadcast services in a high tempo environment. This individual will be responsible for operation and monitoring of broadcasting, video production, video editing, and audio visual (AV) equipment used for broadcasting, livestreaming, webcasting, and taping for a wide range of high-profile, live and staged programs, events, meetings, and conferences. Essential functions include live video production, post-production, archiving and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Expertise in audio and video editing, signal mixing, processing, duplication, and distribution.
    Operation, maintenance, and documentation of broadcast-quality audio and video recording systems in a unique environment.
  • Sufficient experience and expertise to work independently.
  • Edit, record, receive, monitor, distribute, and catalog all multimedia recordings for historical record.
  • Use professional video cameras of various taping formats, audio mixers and sound boards, network connections for live web broadcasting, studio layouts and lighting effects, and TV production studios.
  • Support multiple live event production switching, live keying of graphic titles and quality control checks.
  • Post-production support includes editing, use of prepackaged graphics, quality control and post event audio and video distribution to multiple outlets.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain broadcast, production, editing and AV equipment.
  • Monitor equipment for performance and upgrades, report problems and process equipment for repair.
  • Copy/edit/record graphics or sound.
  • Must have ability to work closely with others and maintain a high level of quality customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. College Degree preferred.
  • 5+ Years of related experience.
  • Ability to comprehend and utilize audio, visual, and power related mathematics.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Basic understanding of audio-visual equipment and concepts
  • Well versed with common office productivity applications, such as the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Must have professional demeanor, patience, flexibility, and strong customer-service skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

Target salary range is between $60,000 - $110,000. Commensyrate wth experience.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret/SCI clearance at this location.
