UICGS Bowhead is seeking a Solution Train Engineer to support a major Agile transformation for a U.S. Marine Corps acquisition program.
• Facilitate solution-level events including Pre- and Post-PI Planning, Solution Demos, and Solution Syncs to ensure alignment across multiple ARTs and suppliers.
• Drive identification, tracking, and resolution of cross-ART dependencies, systemic risks, and integration challenges.
• Partner with Solution Management, Product Management, System Architects, and RTEs to align strategic priorities with execution commitments.
• Collaborate with portfolio leadership to operationalize SAFe-aligned portfolio management practices that promote strategy execution, transparency, and adaptive planning.
• Configure and maintain JIRA/Confluence portfolio structures and dashboards for real-time visibility into epic progress, dependencies, and delivery health.
• Partner with government Product Managers, Epic Owners, and ART leadership to build capability in SAFe portfolio and solution train roles.
• Champion hypothesis-driven funding, and value stream alignment.
• Guide backlog refinement, prioritization, and planning to connect solution visions and strategy with delivery execution.
• Collaborate with analysts to define and track solution/capability performance metrics (throughput, predictability, value realization, epic progress).
• Work directly with Agile Release Trains as they stand up and coordinate with the Solution Train, and the other ARTs and Teams.
• Help mature data-informed governance that supports enterprise and tactical decision-making in alignment with defense modernization goals.
• Operate as a trusted, embedded partner within the government PMO, building relationships across leadership, technical teams, and functional stakeholders.
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable, solution-level delivery plans that bridge the gap between leadership vision and execution reality.
• Bachelor of Science/Arts degree required
• 5+ years’ experience as a Release Train Engineer, Solution Train Engineer, Agile Product Manager, or equivalent in a SAFe environment.
• 10+ years’ experience in Software Development and/or Product Management preferred.
• Demonstrated experience facilitating large-scale planning events and resolving complex delivery dependencies.
• Strong background in Agile software development; prior developer or technical lead experience strongly preferred.
• Exceptional facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and related Agile portfolio management tools.
Must currently hold a Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
