UMIAQ Design is seeking an architectural designer to collaborate on building design projects across the state of Alaska. The UMIAQ Design architectural team is actively working on many exciting long term design projects. The architectural designer will work and interact with a small team of professionals in a collaborative office setting.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Frequent hand and finger use for drafting, typing, and design software.
Visual acuity to read, analyze, and produce detailed drawings and specifications.
Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching to handle files, drawings, or models.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of documents or equipment.
Mental focus to concentrate on complex technical tasks for extended periods.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Problem-solving, analytical thinking, and creativity required in design work.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact with teams and clients.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in an office setting with standard office equipment.
Some travel required to project sites and client meetings.
Site visits may involve walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs, or entering active construction areas.
May occasionally be exposed to weather conditions during site inspections.
Work hours are generally standard but may require flexibility to meet project deadlines.
Occasional travel to remote jobsites in Alaska accessible via small aircraft or other small motorized vehicles.
