Overview

Bowhead seeks a Software Integrator with specialized skills in Marine Corps systems to join our team supporting NIWC Atlantic. The software integrator will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration, testing, and sustainment of advanced command-and-control and battle management systems.
• Have hands-on experience with GCCS, AFATDS, CAC2S, and Minotaur Mission Systems.
• Support system interoperability, data link integration, and mission system configuration optimization.
• Configure interfaces and data exchanges between systems, ensuring accurate and timely data flow across platforms.
• Supports the design, integration, and sustainment of secure software development environments.
• Builds and maintains standardized development frameworks that enable consistent software delivery across multiple mission-critical programs.
• Integrate software components, subsystems, and external interfaces into defense mission systems.
• Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD security standards.
• Conduct software integration and validation testing to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Develop and maintain detailed integration documentation, including interface control documents (ICDs), configuration baselines, and version tracking.
• Support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for secure software delivery.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement software fixes or enhancements.
• Ensure integrated systems meet program requirements for reliability, security, and scalability.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and readiness evaluations.
• Support software deployment and sustainment in classified and unclassified environments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• COMPTIA Sec + or higher certification
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience
• Strong understanding of software integration methodologies, data exchange formats and messaging protocols.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools
• Proficiency with scripting and automation
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and virtualization technologies.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a Secret clearance.

 

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift, move, and position equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments, including on uneven or natural surfaces.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lean, crouch, twist, bend, and squat as needed to inspect or analyze network infrastructure.
• Must be able to work outdoors in deployed environments and perform duties in adverse weather conditions, including cold, rain, snow, and heat.
