Overview

POSTING TITLE (TRACKING CODE):

 

Bowhead Logistics Management, LLC seeks a Engineering Tech II for the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA location.  

Responsibilities

The Engineering Technician II performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations, follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments.  Technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may be reviewed in progress.  This technician performs at this level, one or a combination of such typical duties as:

  1. Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment;
  2. Conducting a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors;
  3. Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presenting the data in prescribed form.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts, servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment;
  • Conducting a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors;
  • Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry, and presenting the data in prescribed form.
  • Must possess a strong desire to provide excellent customer service solutions and interact with coworkers and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must be motivated to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of one-three (1-3) years’ experience in the position applied for (referenced above).
    • Must have cost estimator skills.
    • Must have extensive knowledge of blue prints.
    • Must have experience with tech writing
    • Must be able to perform basic mathematics.
    • Ability to perform advanced mathematics is preferred
    • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
    • Must have a good working knowledgeable of Army regulations; systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.
    • Must be able to pass a background investigation and gain access to military installations.
    • The position is on a federal military installation. Candidates/employees will need to drive onto the military installation to gain access to the respective building for their position.
    • Experience working at Letterkenny Army Depot highly desired.
    • Must have intermediate computer knowledge of internet software; spreadsheet software, word processing software and MS Office Suite
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
    • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

     

    • Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, move, manipulate or feel objects; talk and/or hear and taste and/or smell.
    • Frequently required to stand and/or walk and routinely required to reach with hands and arms.
    • Routinely required to stand, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or squat.
    • Frequently lifts and /or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 40 pounds.
    • Often exerts similar effort in pushing, pulling and positioning parts assemblies and equipment.
    • Frequently lifts and moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers or with lifting devices such as jacks hoists and cranes.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level, however candidates with an active Secret are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location
