Patrol UIC Lands and make contact with all individuals on or entering UIC Lands to verify that they are one of the following; 1. UIC Shareholder, 2. Shareholder Spouse, 3. Shareholder Descendant, 4. Other Arctic Slope Shareholder Subsistence Hunter. All other persons must obtain a valid UIC Land Use Permit to access UIC Lands. Uphold the UIC Land Use Policies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

� Assume role of UIC Land Marshall for the protection of our UIC Lands by upholding our UIC Land Use Policies.

� Become familiar with all of UIC Land Use Policies

� Patrol UIC Lands on foot, UTV, snowmobile, and automobile in the Barrow area in a systematic attempt to minimize unlawful entry of UIC Lands by unauthorized persons and enforce compliance of our UIC Land Use Policies with public and private individuals

� Participate in trespass investigations by documenting alleged trespassers with recording devices and written accounts of encounters

� Approach individuals on or who are about to enter UIC Lands and verify they are authorized by permit or allowed thru one of our Shareholder use categories.

� If an individual enters UIC Lands and is not permitted or allowed, the UIC Land Marshall will offer the issuance of a UIC Land Use Permit on site. If the individual is not in compliance with UIC Land Use Requirements, and the individual enters UIC Lands or is already on UIC Lands, the UIC Land Marshall will report a trespass violation to the proper authorities.

� Other duties as assigned


� A High School diploma or equivalent is required in addition to the ability to pass a background check to carry a firearm.

� Previous experience with working with the public. Speak effectively with local residents.

� Apply common sense to carry out instructions in writing, orally, or in diagram form.

� Must be able to work for long periods of time under adverse conditions.

� Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.

� Must be a team player, well organized and demonstrate the ability to perform in a proficient manner the assigned duties.

� Must have the ability to avoid unnecessary conflicts & deescalate confrontational situations.

� Not been terminated in the last 6 months of employment with UIC or its subsidiaries. Must have punctual work history. Work Environment Summary The work environment for this position is a combination of both Office and Field Site work. The incumbent will be exposed to Cold, Moving Machinery, Driving Automated Equipment, Outdoor Weather Conditions, Helmet required. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. UIC reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
