Job Description: ***Must be member of Local Union 302 or 341*** Oversee all types of craft workers onsite on a fast paced construction project. Primary duties will include leading construction crews and perform construction, rehabilitating highways, installing culverts, excavation activities, traffic control, and coordinating with miscellaneous subcontractors. General Laborer Summary: ***Must Be Member of LOCAL UNION 341*** Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Marine Operations Forklift Operator UIC, Bowhead Transport seeks a seasonal, land/sea-based Forklift Operator to be always responsible for the safe operation of the forklift. The operator will offload and backload cargo on barges and in freight yards under the direction of the Barge Master and Cargo Operations Manager. Other tasks will routinely include lashing, housekeeping on the barge and yards, minor forklift maintenance, and report writing as needed. Field observations and collection are conducted using approximately 30 different protocols and multiple Standard Operating Procedures with varying schedule requirements based on local ecosystem and current field conditions. The position works with the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON), which is a continental-scale observation facility funded by the National Science Foundation. The NEON program is designed to collect long-term, open access ecological data to better understand how U.S. ecosystems are changing, from freshwater systems such as streams, rivers, and lakes to terrestrial systems spanning tropical forests to deserts to tundra (neonscience.org).
